ARMORED SAINT To Issue Special 3-Disc Edition Of 'Symbol Of Salvation'
February 20, 2003ARMORED SAINT will release a special three-disc edition of their classic LP, "Symbol of Salvation", complete with special digi-box packaging.
The set, due in April through Metal Blade Records, will include the following:
Disc 1: The original record, remastered — and Mpeg video files of the two accompanying videos: "Reign of Fire" and "Last Train Home".
Disc 2: The much-sought-after four-track demos of the entire record in sequence, featuring original guitar work by Dave Prichard — and bonus track interview. This is part one of a 90-minute interview conducted by Metal Blade CEO Brian Slagel, with the band discussing the making of "Symbol…". The interview was recorded in December 2002.
Disc 3: Part two and conclusion of interview.
The packaging will include a revised version of the cover art, liner notes by rock journalist Jon Sutherland and additional band photos.
In related news, ARMORED SAINT bassist Joey Vera will be performing with the critically-acclaimed TRIBE AFTER TRIBE at this year's Rock Hard festival commemorating the magazine's 20 year anniversary. The TRIBE will be performing on June 7, but will also be playing selected warm-up shows on their own. Exact dates are yet to be announced. Also on the Vera front, look for the bassist on the road with SEVEN WITCHES, who will be supporting prog masters SYMPHONY X starting on March 6 in Chicago. It will be the first tour with the new lineup featuring along with Joey, ex-SAVATAGE guitarist Jack Frost , drummer Brian Craig, and new singer James Rivera (formerly of HELSTAR). SEVEN WITCHES will release their new record entitled "Passage to the Other Side" on March 25 in Europe and April 9 in the US.
